The hot stone therapist is massaging the client with oiled, heated stones held in the palm of the hand using light, medium or deep massaging techniques along the muscles of the legs, arms, and torso areas at the same time. The stones are mainly volcanic rocks such as basalt of various sizes, shapes and weights. The stones vary from around the diameter of a 10 cent piece to be very large and weighing 1.5 kilos in weight.
